The United States has introduced a four-year Section 201 safeguard tariff-rate quota for imported quartz surface products used for countertops. The measure combines annual import-volume limits with different tariff rates for goods inside and above the quota.

• The first-year quota is 140 million square feet, with a 25% in-quota rate and a 50% over-quota rate.
